The Files Column

We are aware that you include your essential files on your board in various ways, but we wanted to give them the attention they merit. The Files Column is a column solely focused on files of all kinds! Read on to discover how it operates.

How to add it

Choose “Files” from the drop-down menu by clicking the “+” sign to the right of your Columns as shown

How it works

Click inside the Column once it has been added

Options for adding files:

  • From your computer/desktop
  • From a link
  • Through Google Drive
  • From external platforms, including Dropbox, Box, SharePoint, and OneDrive
  • Directly creating a new AtmosAI Workdoc from the Files Column.

Note: Clear your cache and enable third-party cookies if you’re experiencing difficulties connecting your Google Drive account. You can only upload files from your computer while using the Desktop app.

Your files will appear in a photo carousel that you can click through.  If you want to download any of these images click on the three dots in the top right and click download.

Note:  The largest file size for any individual file is 50 MB. You can upload files from Google Drive or Dropbox instead of creating a zip file if the files you want to upload are more significant than that.

Simply click on your file to view it in full-screen mode!

Note: Within a shared view, no files found on a Files Column will be accessible or downloadable.

Upload a file from a link.

We now provide the choice to immediately upload a file via a link! When adding a file, select “From Link” to accomplish this. In the pop-up window that displays, type in your URL, give the file a name, and click “Save”! Now, whenever you click on the file, a new tab will open up with the linked file already open!

No files found on a Files Column within a shared view will be downloaded or accessible.

Add annotations to your files

Have you ever wished to start a conversation with your team by leaving comments on a uploaded file? Use our annotation function to accomplish this! The days of needing to close a file to debate it are long gone, or even worse, of having to download a file, make comments, and re-upload it. You can use this functionality to discuss, tag, and comment on files within the File Column or Files Gallery!

Downloading Files?

To preview your file, click on it. Click “Download File” from the three-dot menu that appears in the preview’s top right corner. By viewing the file in full screen mode and selecting the download icon at the file’s bottom, you may also download it. You can download all of the items in a zip file at once if you have uploaded numerous files to one item in the files column.

Note: All users can download files from the Files Column, including Visitors and Guests. Visit this post to learn more about  the many  many user kinds we provide.

Association with the File Manager

Further improve file association by utilizing the File Manager add on.  This will allow you to upload any file you have in your repository directly to any client/project within the system.

Note: A Files Column must be present on the board in order to use the association tool.
