Kanban is an effective method of project management that tries to balance workload needs with available resources. It allows us to quickly identify problem areas and ensure our resources are used effectively. Because of its straightforward design and adaptability, Kanban has been utilized successfully in a wide variety of fields since its inception.  

Add a Kanban View to a board

When you hover over the “Add View” option at the top of your board, you’ll see the choice to “Kanban” as an option.

Set up your Kanban View

Adjust the parameters for your Kanban View is incredibly easy just select which status column you with the Kanban to be associated with and the system will create that view. 

  • Kanban Column

Let’s get the most important thing out of the way first. To choose which Status Column is the base for the Kanban view. 

Note: Currently, labels from Status Columns are the sole source for card creation in the Kanban View. In the future, we aim to add more varieties of columns, so please check back.
  • Card Columns

Choose which board columns’ data you want to view on your Kanban cards. This will make it easier to track progress and spot bottlenecks. You may even choose which Subitem column to include on the card.

  • Divide by groups

You may also organize your Kanban cards into categories and see them that way. Select “Divide by groups” from the Options drop-down to do so.

Add new cards

You can add new items without leaving the Kanban View; the Main Board View is just one click away. To see a pop-up view of an item, choose “+Add Item” at the bottom of any card, then click on the new card

Select “Item” from the “+ Add” menu in the upper left of the screen to create a new item.

Edit cards

Edit columns right from your cards 

You may change which columns are shown on your cards without using the pop-up view. If you want to change the data in any of the columns, just click on the column header.

Tip: An item’s complete pop-up view may be accessed by clicking anywhere on the Kanban card. From then on, modifying all product information is a breeze.
 

Card actions menu

You may change items and do other crucial tasks using the card actions menu without leaving the Kanban view. The menu may be accessed by selecting the three dots in the upper right corner of your card. Subitems, archiving, deleting, relocating, duplicating items, and more may all be done from this screen.

  • Organize columns

By simply dragging and dropping, you may rearrange the arrangement of your Kanban columns to suit your needs.

  • Organize cards

You may rearrange your columns by dragging and dropping the objects inside them. This is a fantastic visual tool for monitoring and organizing your inventory:

Subitems in Kanban

With our new subitems in Kanban functionality, you can see every detail of your items. You don’t have to go between your Main board view and Kanban to see the granular subitem data.

The Kanban and main board views allow you to add subitems. To add a subitem, click on the Kanban card and edit it in the subitem pop-up view.
