Deadline Mode

Introducing the Deadline Mode! This tool lets you link your Date or Timeline Column with a Status column on your board to create a clear visual representation of deadlines. With this feature, you and your team can ensure you are always on track. Continue reading to discover more about this function.

Enabling Deadline Mode

To enable Deadline Mode, you must have a Date or Timeline Column and at least one Status Column on your board. Additionally, you can include a People Column if needed.

  • A Date or Timeline Column
  • At least one Status Column
  • Optional – a People Column

After ensuring you have the required columns, activate Deadline Mode by opening the column menu of the Date or Timeline Column you want to use and selecting “Settings,” followed by “Set as a Deadline.”

After selecting the Date or Timeline Column to set in Deadline Mode, you will be prompted to connect it with a Status Column and optionally a People Column. To do so, simply click the arrow to access the drop-down menu of available Status and People columns in your board, and make your selection. Once you have made your selections, click on “Connect columns”.

After setting up the Deadline Mode, you should see the three connected columns with symbols next to the dates in the Deadline Column.

The Timeline view displays a set of bars that indicate the start and end date of the task. The bar fills up as the end date approaches, resembling a thermometer. Once the task is marked as “Done,” the bar shows a checkmark on the left and turns completely green; an image demonstrating this can be seen below.

Defining status labels as “Done.”

You can customize the labels indicating whether a task is completed on each board. By defining a label as “Done,” Deadline Mode can display the completion status of an item. To do this, go to the three-dot menu in your Status Column, select “Settings,” and then “Customize Status column.” Click on the color(s) of the label that you want to mark as “Done.”

Add a time to your deadlines

To enhance the precision of your deadlines, consider adding a specific time to your Date Column. Access the calendar dropdown when selecting a date within the Date Column and click the “Add Time” button. Afterward, input the desired time for the deadline to end.

When you set a time for a deadline in a Date Column with Deadline Mode enabled, the time will be taken into account when determining if a task is overdue or not.

Activities and Deadline Mode

Our My Work feature is a useful addition to the Deadline Mode described earlier. Activities appear on the left pane of your SalesTitan.io account and allow you to keep track of all the items assigned to you in chronological order, regardless of which board they are on.

To use Activities, you must add a People Column to your board and assign people to specific items using Deadline Mode. Once this is done, each assigned user will start seeing items in My Work, summarizing what work needs to be completed soon. Further information on how to use Activities can be found here.

 Due Date Reminders

You can set up notifications for yourself and your team using SalesTitan.io automation to ensure you never miss a deadline. To do this, go to the column menu of a Date Column by clicking on the three-dot menu next to its name. Then select “Set Due Date Reminders.”
