At SalesTitan, we place a great deal of importance and value on collaboration and communication, but why should that end with your board? Annotating files will enhance your team’s efficiency! Directly collaborate with your team within your files and images so that everyone is in the flow from the beginning.
Create an annotation
To locate the annotations feature on your board, you must first add images to a Files Column. After previewing a file by selecting it from the File Column, you can add a comment by choosing the “Comment” icon at the bottom of the screen.
When you select this option, the annotation editor will appear on your screen. Simply select a portion of your image, and the editor will relocate to that location so you can make your edits. After writing your update, click the blue “Update” icon to add it to your image, and you’re done!
View your annotations
After adding an annotation to an image, a small blue circle with a number will appear to indicate the location of the annotation. The circles are designated in the sequence of annotation addition. Hovering over a blue circle within your image will then display a preview of that given annotation:
By tapping on any of the blue annotation circles, you’ll be able to seamlessly observe all updates in one thread in the sequence that they were posted! You can also access this page by selecting the “Updates” icon on the screen’s right side.
Here you can also modify or remove your own update, comment on someone else’s, or like a remark.
Mention your team
When annotating an image, it is likely that you intend to discuss various aspects of the photo with another teammate. To facilitate team communication, you can “@ mention” any of your colleagues (or the entire team! ), and they will be notified and directed to your annotation.
Resolve an annotation
Have you or your colleagues implemented a file-specific suggestion or piece of feedback? To mark a remark on your annotation as resolved without difficulty, simply open that annotation and select the “Resolve” icon, as shown below!
Once a numbered annotation has been marked as resolved, it will appear in green to signify that the comment no longer requires attention.
Edit or delete an update.
If you wish to modify or delete a previously-posted annotation, merely click on it to access its edit or delete menu. Select the downward-pointing arrow and press “Edit update” or “Delete update for everyone,” depending on your preference:
Annotate a video
You can now immediately annotate videos in the Files Column! The procedure of analyzing and discussing a video has never been simpler.
Click on a video file that has been uploaded to your Files Column to create a video annotation. At any time during the video, you can leave an annotation by clicking the “Comment” icon at the bottom of the screen. Move the cursor to the desired location, then select and enter your update!
Whenever an annotation is added, a small emblem of the individual who added it will appear beneath the video at the specific timestamp. If you click on any of these icons, you will be able to observe all annotations as a thread on the right side of your screen!
When perusing the annotations within a thread, you can also click on any of the timestamps to navigate to the corresponding notification.
Annotations use case
There are countless methods to utilize the image annotation feature, specifically for teams engaged in creative or design processes! Consider our “Creative team planning” board, which we use to manage our creative initiatives at a high level while collaborating with our team and keeping everyone aligned at all times.
On this board, we use the File Column to submit each document or image pertaining to the current project:
The manager (represented by the second People Column on our board) will evaluate each image and provide feedback so that the person in authority can modify them.
To accomplish this, as soon as each project is available for evaluation, the manager will select the corresponding image in the File Column, review the photo, and add their comments.
The image annotation function has greatly facilitated the image review and modification process.
Your feedback counts!
As always, we would love to hear your thoughts on the newly released features! You can provide us with feedback regarding your experience with the new file annotations feature by selecting “Give Feedback,” as shown below.
