How to archive and unarchive

Instead of keeping outdated information, you can choose to archive it. This will help you organize your boards, items, and word docs and make it easier to retrieve them later if needed.

Archive a board
To archive, a board, go to the board menu at the top right-hand corner of the board and select “Archive board,” as demonstrated in the image below.
Tip: The mobile app provides a way to archive a board, and you can follow some simple steps to do so.
Archive a group
If you want to archive a group in your board, simply click on the three-dot menu located on the left side of the group’s name and select the “Archive” option.
Archive an item
To archive an item, first, hover your mouse over the item you want to archive. As you do so, a three-dot menu will appear on the right side of the item. Click on the three-dot menu to open the item’s menu, and then select the “Archive” option from the list of available options.
Batch Actions is a convenient feature that allows you to act on multiple items simultaneously. To archive numerous items, you can select each item by clicking on the small square on the left side of each item. Once you have selected all the items you want to archive, navigate to the Batch Actions menu at the bottom of the screen and choose “Archive.” This will move all the selected items to your archive section.
How to unarchive
Archiving your boards, work docs, groups, and items provides the advantage of restoring them in the event you need them again. There are several methods to access the archive section and recover your data. Here are some ways to do it:
- Using the Profile menu
Click on your profile picture and select “Archive” from the drop-down menu.
Once you have archived an object, you can find it easily in the archives section. To unarchive the object, click on the three-dot menu on the far right and select “Restore.”
2. Workspace menu
You can also access the archives section through the workspace menu. Click on the three-dot menu above the workspace navigation bar, select “View archive/trash,” and click “Archive.”
3. Search & Board Menu
To quickly unarchive your boards, use the Search Everything feature by clicking on the magnifying glass icon in the left panel above your profile picture.
To access a list of all archived boards that are related to you, click on “Archived Boards.”
Once you have found the archived board using the Search Everything function, click on the board to enter it. Next, click the three-dot icon in the upper right-hand corner to access the board menu. From there, select “View archive/trash,” then click “Archive” to unarchive the board.
To restore an archived board, access the archive section and click on the three-dot menu on the right of the board’s name, then select “Restore.” However, it’s crucial to note that only board owners and administrators can unarchive boards. The board will only be visible in your archives if you are not the owner.
4. Tidy Up
You can use the Admin settings to restore archived boards as an administrator. Click on your profile picture and select “Admin.” Then, navigate to the “Archived” tab to restore any boards you wish to bring back.
Account administrators can access a list of all archived boards on their account by selecting “Tidy Up” from the left-hand menu and then navigating to the “Archived Boards” tab. From there, they can restore any archived board by clicking on the “Restore” option.
Unarchive board-specific components
To restore an archived group, item, or navigate to the board where the object was initially generated. On the top right corner of the board, access the board menu and select “View archive/trash.” Next, choose the “Archive” option.
Filtering archives section
