The Automation Activity Log is for you if you’ve ever desired greater visibility into your automation activity. The Automation Activity Log will keep track of all of your automation.

What is it?

When automation is triggered, you’ll be able to record any actions or results in the Automation Activity Log. This log will indicate whether or not the automation was successful. If successful, the log will reveal when the automation was executed.

Note: The automation activity logs only records the most recent seven days of data or up to 500 automation processes, whichever occurs first.

Opening the log

There are three methods to observe the activity of your automation. Using the Automation Center or the Board Activity Log, you can observe all activities for a specific automation recipe or for your entire board.

Individual Recipe Log

To see all activities associated with a specific recipe, navigate to the “Automate” section of your board:

Select the “Board Automations” tab, navigate to the desired recipe, and select the menu with three dots. Select “Automation Activity” in the menu:

This view will reveal the activity associated with this automation. You will see the date and time of each instance where this automation was executed. Additionally, the log depicts whether or not the automation operated successfully, the board’s name, and the complete automation protocol.

Automations Center

To access the activity journal within the Automations Center, select the word “Automate” at the top of the board:

Next, select “Board Automations” and then “Board Activity”:

You will then see a list of all automations that have been executed on your board. The list will display the date and time that the automation was executed, whether or not the automation was successful, the board name, and the automation recipe:

Board Activity Log

To access the Automation Activity Log, navigate to the board’s top and select “Activity.”

Click the “Automations Activity” link next:

This will open the Activity Log for Automations. You will see a list of all automations that have been executed on your board. The list will display the date and time that the automation was executed, whether or not the automation was successful, the board name, and the automation recipe:

Navigating the log

The Automation Activity Log has several features that should facilitate activity navigation.

Related Item

Choose the carrot to the right of an activity to observe the associated item:

Note: This provides information about the item that triggered the automation. If a modification to an item does not activate the automation, an error message will be displayed. For instance, if “Every time period” is the trigger for your automation, the following message will appear: “Item information unavailable. Click here for further details.”

Log Filter

Use the navigation menu under “Status” to filter your board in order to observe unsuccessful automation sessions.
