If you are involved in design work, you are likely aware of the importance of precise color codes. Simply approximating the right color is insufficient; verifying that the precise color chosen by your design team is printed or uploaded is essential. Fortunately, the Color Picker Column has got you covered! You can select either the Hex Color Code or the RGB Color Code and showcase a swatch alongside the code you use for your design, directly on your board.

Adding the column

To add this column to your board, click on the ‘+’ icon located on the top right of your board and then select “More columns”. Next, choose the “Color Picker column” and you are all set.

How does it work?

To select a color, click on the cell to access the color spectrum. The color code will be displayed in the field at the bottom of the window as you choose a color.

From this window, it is possible to modify the color code for a specific item and switch between Hex, RGB, or HSL options. You can alternate between the different color code selections for your color by clicking on the upward and downward arrows located on the right-hand side, as shown here:Color Picker

Hex Code or RGB Code?

You can select either the HEX or RGB Color Code for your design elements. Although the column is set to the Hex Code by default, you can easily switch to RGB by accessing the Column Settings.

To open the Column Settings, click the arrow next to the column’s name. This will cause a pop-up window where you can choose between HEX or RGB. The code type you select will apply to all the color codes in your board.

Tip: If you prefer not to modify the code for all of your items, you have the option of manually changing specific items by utilizing the arrows within the color picker window, as demonstrated in the preceding section.
