Are you searching for a concise way to access all the essential information about your items? Then you’re in luck! Our Cards View was designed precisely for this purpose, providing a visual and gallery-like display that lets you view all your necessary item details in one place.

Continue reading to discover how you can set this up on your board!

Add Cards View to the board

To include the Cards View on your board, click on the button located at the top of your board (which will display “Add View” when you hover over it), and from the dropdown menu that appears, choose “Cards.”

Add a Cards View widget to a Dashboard

If you want to add the Cards View widget to your Dashboard or Dashboard View, click the “+ Add widget” button and choose “Widgets Center.” Look for the “Cards” option and add the widget to your desired location.

Setting up the Cards View

Once you’ve added the Cards View to your board, the next step is to personalize the columns that will appear. To achieve this, click on the gear icon located at the top right of the view, and modify the following settings according to your preferences:

  • Cards Cover

The initial setting allows you to pick a cover image visible on your card. You can opt to feature any of your File or People Columns as the primary image on your card, or you can decide to have no cover image at all.

  • Card Columns

Next, choose which columns from your board you would like to appear on your Kanban cards. For instance, on our board, we selected the Designer, Status, and Asset dimension columns to be visible on every card.

Note: At present, Card Columns do not support subitems. However, we are actively working on enabling this feature in the future.

View all card details

Clicking on any card will open a pop-up view of the item with all its column information. From there, you can easily view and update any item details, and the changes will also reflect automatically on your Main Table.

Edit card details

Additionally, it’s possible to modify the columns visible on your cards without opening up the pop-up view entirely! You only need to click on any exhibited columns to edit the information displayed.

Add new cards

It’s easy to add new cards to your view by selecting the blue “+ Add” button at the top left of your screen. Click on “Item,” enter the name of your new card (item), provide the necessary column details, and click “Create Item” in the pop-up view. Your card will instantly appear as a new item in both your Cards View and the Main Table View of your board!

Sort the view

You can experiment with different sorting options on your Cards View to arrange the cards per your preference! To achieve this, click the “Sort” button at the top of the screen and select “Add new sort.” After that, choose the value you want to sort and specify whether you want it to be in ascending or descending order!

Edit the view

You can change the name of your view whenever you like. To do this, you need to open the views dropdown menu, choose the menu next to the current name of your view, and select “Rename.” After that, you can type in the new name for your view. Renaming can be especially useful if you have multiple Cards Views on your board.

Tip: Additionally, the same menu can perform other actions, such as removing the view, creating a copy, or setting it as your default view.

Display settings

You can use the Split View feature if you want to use both your Cards View and Main Table simultaneously. Go to your Settings panel and select “Split View” to enable this. This will display your Cards View on top of your Main Table. If you prefer to see only your Cards View, choose “Fullscreen View” instead.

Filter your view

Lastly, you can apply a filter if you want to narrow down the information displayed in your Cards View. For instance, if you want to see only digital assets for which “X” is the designer and have the status “Live,” you can click the filter button and select those criteria. This will ensure that only the relevant cards meeting those conditions will be shown.
