What is a dependency loop?

If you are utilizing a dependency column and automation, you can come across an unintentionally set loop. Such loops may occur when there is a mutual dependence between items, especially when the top item relies on the last article in a sequence. The example below demonstrates the use of automation to establish this dependency.

The video clip below illustrates how the highest item is linked to the final item, producing a circular dependency.

How to prevent dependency loops:

To avoid the creation of a dependency loop, it is important to avoid making the initial task item dependent on the final task item.

If you unintentionally generate a dependency loop, there’s no need to be anxious. You can navigate to the automation center and disable the automation that is causing the loop. After deactivating it, return to your board and attempt to pinpoint where the infinite loop is occurring.
