Changing board ownership

A board owner can be defined as either:

  • The individuals involved in the creation and ownership of a board.
  • Any subscribers who have been designated as co-owners by the board creator.

But what steps should be taken, In the event that the board owner has left from your team?
It is possible for the administrator of an account to regain ownership of a board. Continue reading to learn more. 👇

Add or remove board owners.

As the owner of the board, you possess the ability to include or exclude other board owner by selecting the crown symbol next to a user’s name, which will turn to blue, thus granting them ownership privileges, or grey, thereby revoking their ownership status.

 
Note: Only the original owner of the board and the account administrators have the authority to add owners to the board. Furthermore, administrators also have the right to designate themselves as the owners of the Main board.
 

How to take ownership of deactivated users’ boards.

In the event that a user has been deactivated from your account, and you are looking to gain access to their boards, as an administrator, it is certainly within your authority to do so. By performing a few simple clicks, it is now possible to transfer ownership of Main, Private, and Shareable boards. In order to accomplish this, take the subsequent actions:

First, click on your profile picture located in the bottom left corner.
Next, select the “Admin” option. From there,
Click into the “Users” section and navigate to the “Board Ownership” tab.
In the provided drop-down menus, select the current owner of the board, followed by the new owner who will be assuming ownership.
Finally, click on the “Add new owner” button to complete the transfer process.

Upon completion, a notification will pop-up to verify the alteration. To confirm the modification, select “Add as an owner,” or if you have reservations, choose “No, take me back.”

How to effectively manage boards without owners.

If you have misplaced a board and are unable to locate it in either the archives or recycle bin, this feature should be utilized. This feature assigns a new owner for every board that is either classified as Private or Shareable and currently lacks an assigned owner.

Select your profile picture located at the lower left corner. Access the Board Ownership tab, navigate to the Admin section and click on Users. From there, select the Board Ownership tab. Next, proceed to select your designated name from the dropdown list and opt for the “add new owner” option.

This action will enable you to regain access to your board. 🙌
